Upper school students attended an assembly on binge drinking and alcohol poisoning presented by Ms. Mary Ciammetti, the founder of “Don’t Stall, Just Call” (http://www.dontstalljustcall.org/) . “Don’t Stall, Just Call” is an alcohol poisoning education program for university, college and high school students and their families. The program aims to educate students of all ages about the effects of alcohol on the body, the symptoms of alcohol poisoning, the need to get immediate help when necessary, and medical amnesty.

During the presentation, several students volunteered to wear alcohol simulation goggles to demonstrate the effects of one, two or more alcoholic drinks. Ms. Ciammetti lost her son to alcohol poisoning less than 2 years ago while he was in college. Since then she and numerous volunteers have been working to get their message into colleges and high schools around the region.
